From Mom's Heart
August 8, 2013
We are standing in the middle of the forest, and there are many paths that we can
take, only they don't all lead to our destination. We know that whichever one we take
MAY lead to that place we have dreamed of, LONGED for, yet the end of many of the
paths brings us right back to where we are standing now – hungry for so much, parched,
void of strength and wondering how long we can go on.
We have no choice but to choose one – and pray that it will lead us to what we are
looking for, yet knowing that the ONE who is watching us knows that HE has things for
us that we cannot see. And we must be made strong. We are not FEELING strong right
now.
The smallest of us is severly malnourished and while she has a STRONG will and a
SOLID faith, she is injured from the long drawn out battle she has faced. While she has
those to cheer her on, she is the one who must fight, trusting in the ONE who she
cannot see yet has asked SO much of her. Why He remains silent, allowing her to feel
so much pain, yet providing no comfort, she cannot fathom, yet she fights on. She never
knows what enemy awaits her next, what pain will sideline her, but her Strength is deep
within, coming from where even she does not understand.
There have been days, many of them, where she has awoke to such pain, within and
without, such loneliness and sadness that she wondered how she could move at all. Yet
she has continued. Those who only look at her from afar, often overlook the deep
injuries and extreme pain that she endures with every step. They assume that because
she does not appear injured that she is fine, and so they move on. Yet the injuries are
there, deep, she is bleeding out on the inside....
Those of us that walk with her know her pain and feel it deeply, yet can do nothing to
relieve it. This creates such anguish inside of us, such pain for the helplessness of it all.
We cannot fix this one that we love so much. We have injuries from our own journey
that often add to the pain of the very one that we pray for healing for.
So we continue, supporting the injured one in any way that we can, following the path
that we feel led to go on, hoping for healing to begin. We must rely on the kindness of
friends and strangers that we have met on our path, to supply what we need to keep
going. We must trust that the ONE that knows our need will lay the need on their heart,
and they will respond so that she can go on....
To be continued.............................................
